I've decided to host a little writing contest. Last year I drew this:
but I haven't gotten around to coloring it because I want it to have a really awesome background... but I haven't been able to come up with any ideas.
So that brings us to my contest. Write a short story featuring Rin Naomi, ratgirl spy - It doesn't have to be more than a couple of paragraphs - all it needs to cover is where she is and why she is there. Describe the setting to the best of your ability.
The winner, chosen by me, will have their setting illustrated as the background for the drawing, gets a three month premium membership, and will get a print of the finished artwork.
To enter, submit your story as a deviation or in a journal, include a link to this journal with your story, and leave a comment below with a link to your entry.
The deadline is the end of February 2013, or, if there are less than five entries by then, as soon as there are five entries. Depending on the number of entries, I may award additional prizes. If you are interested in entering, please promote the contest! Remember, if there are fewer than five entries, no prizes will be awarded, and the more entries there are, the more prizes there will be!

When I die I want a green burial, where they bury you without embalming in a plain wooden box and plant a tree on top of you. I want a hickory tree. When the tree's roots absorb what's left of my flesh, I will be in the tree. When the tree bears nuts, I will be in the nuts. When squirrels eat the nuts, I will be in the squirrels. And when the squirrels take over the world, I WILL RULE THE WORLD!
I Will Not Comply...
with daylight savings time. The rest of the country can play make-believe with their clocks but mine will remain on Standard Time. I will have to adjust my time to account for others observing the nonsense that is daylight savings time (that is, I will work form 7:30 to 3:30 but work will register that I worked form 8:30 to 4:30) but aside from that, I will live my life on Standard Time from now on. I'll try to get work to schedule me for 9:30 to 5:30, maybe, so I don't have to get up quite so early...
